Women's Health on the Wrist

The experience helps users track menstrual cycles, predicted fertility windows, ovulation, and related health trends from Galaxy Watch. The goal was to make important cycle information understandable at a glance while preserving access to more detailed records.

A Screen That Changes With the Cycle

The primary widget evolves across the menstrual cycle. It emphasizes recording the start or end of a period when that action is most relevant, then highlights upcoming periods, fertility windows, and predicted ovulation at the appropriate time.

Information Architecture

Information Architecture

Separating Detail Across Watch and Phone

A phone can present today’s status, cycle details, logs, and weekly information on one screen. A watch cannot. I separated the information into focused layers so the wrist experience stays glanceable and the paired phone provides the deeper editing and history views.

Onboarding

Onboarding

Guiding Setup Across Devices

Entering cycle history is difficult on a small watch display, especially before the watch and phone experiences are fully paired. The onboarding flow directs users to enter detailed information on mobile, then returns them to a ready-to-use watch experience.

Controlling Sensitive Information

Research showed that some users were uncomfortable displaying period or fertility information on their wrist. I added controls that let users show or hide fertility and period details, with a less sensitive last-period message available as an alternative.

Designing for Longer Translations

The circular layout had to support translated labels without colliding with progress indicators and navigation markers. Most languages fit within two lines, while exceptional cases required a four-line treatment and adjusted placement to prevent overlap.
